Scott Cullen on TSN.ca evaluated the trade values of all NHL players, and ranked them from 50 to 1 (you can read 50 to 26 here, and 25 to 1 here). To no surprise, there were three Senators on the list: Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza, and Dany Heatley.
What was surprising was that Alfredsson, much cheaper than the other two, was ranked 44th in the league, despite scoring 179 points over the last three seasons. Cullen must have ranked age as a pretty important factor in his decisions. Spezza was 22 on the list, thanks to his high point totals and the fact that his contract runs until 2015. Heatley is the highest-ranked Senator, at number 11. 'Nuff said.

That list was ridiculous. How can Spezza's trade value be high when he has a no trade clause? It may as well be a list of "Players Everyone Would Want on Their Team" because so few of them are players who could realistically be traded for.
No trade clauses weren't considered criteria, and length of term was, hence why someone with a no-trade like Spezza gets considered, and someone like Alfie (whose remaining years are player elected if he plays good, meaning you either get a bad Alfie [impossible, I know] for too much money, or you get a good Alfie who might feel he deserves to be paid more than Fisher) gets ranked low.
